The pledge

Mark whether you agree or disagree with each commitment. Blunt is fine, we would rather know where you stand. If you disagree with any of them, a short note on why is welcome.

No welfare for billionaires and giant corporations
  1. I will oppose public subsidies for billionaires and giant corporations, and I will support the fair and equal taxation the Texas Constitution requires.
  2. I will oppose Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones (TIRZ) and other developer subsidies.
  3. I will not accept campaign funds, during or after my race, from developers active in Austin, from large corporations, or from billionaires and their PACs.
  4. I opposed the Dog's Head Development Agreement and its taxpayer kickbacks, and I will not defend or support it in office.
Local business, arts, culture, and current residents
  1. I will work to reduce the $5.6 billion convention center project and redirect funds to local music, arts, culture, and small businesses across the whole city.
  2. I will protect Austin's neighborhoods and give residents a real voice in the decisions that shape them.
Open, honest government
  1. I will govern in the open: no secret votes, no nondisclosure agreements for city business, a public calendar, and real public comment.
  2. I will defend residents' rights to initiative, referendum, and recall, and oppose charter amendments that weaken them.
Parks, water, and a livable climate
  1. I will keep public parks public, managed by the Parks Department, and oppose commercializing them.
  2. I will protect and clean up Austin's waters, and oppose water, energy, sewer, and tax subsidies for data centers.
  3. I will make Austin a leader on climate action and resilience, and prioritize flood and wildfire mitigation.
Transportation for the whole city
  1. I will push to rethink Project Connect and invest in transit that serves the whole city, not just downtown.
People first
  1. I will put people, workers, public health and safety, and public education ahead of corporate interests, and invest evenly across every council district.
